The Netflix original series Warrior Nun has been renewed for a second season, according to Deadline. The series is based on a comic book series character of Warrior Nun Areala and premiered its first season on July 2. Consisting of ten episodes in the first installment, the fantasy series is created by Simon Barry (Bad Blood, Ghost Wars). The streaming service program is executive produced by Stephen Hegyes (White Noise), Amy Berg (Da Vinci’s Demons) Dean English (Falling Angels, Kissed), Robert Burke, Jet Wilkinson (The Chi, Daredevil, The Punisher), and Barry himself. Based on the comic book character, the series centers on the young adult Ava Silva who has just discovered the power of the ancient Order of the Cruciform Sword. The series follows Silva as she tackles the evil forces that remain on Earth with these newly acquired powers. The series cast includes Alba Baptista (A Impostora, Jogo Duplo) as Silva, Thekla Reuten (Bee Movie, Shark Tale) as Jillian Salvis, Lorena Andrea (Papillon, No Man’s Land) as Sister Lilith, Toya Turner (Incredibles 2) as Sister Mary, Tristan Ulloa (Terminator: Dark Fate) as Father Vincent, and Kristine Tonteri-Young (Outside the Wire) as Sister Beatrice. The additional cast features Olivia Delcán (Locked Up), Peter de Jersey (The Bill, Doctor Who), Joaquim de Almeida (24, Fast Five), William Miller (The 100, The Midnight Man), and many more.
There is yet to be a confirmed date for the second season’s premiere due to the renewal announcement occurring only six weeks after the series’ premiere. Check out the season one trailer below:
