The upcoming streaming platform, HBO Max, has announced a bundle of upcoming new shows including the release of Anna Kendrick’s Love Life series, according to Bustle. Created by Sam Boyd (In a Relationship), the series is to premiere in accordance with the streaming service launch date of May 27. The romantic comedy series will be produced by its creator Boyd in addition to Bridget Bedard (Transparent), Paul Feig (Bridesmaids), Jessie Henderson (A Simple Favor), Dan Magnante (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), and Kendrick herself. This program adds to the list of growing original content for the highly anticipated streaming platform.
Set in New York City, Love Life is an anthology series that will follow its main character Darby on her different encounters with love. Consisting of ten episodes in its first season, the series will introduce a new romantic encounter, ranging from the first to the last. Kendrick (Up in the Air and Pitch Perfect) stars as Darby who will be the focal point of the romantic comedy’s first season.
Additional cast members for Love Life includes Peter Vack (Mozart in the Jungle) as Jim, Zoë Chao (Living with Yourself) as Sara, Sasha Compère (Miracle Workers) as Mallory, Scoot McNairy (True Detective and Argo) as Bradley, and Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread).
HBO Max and Love Life will launch on May 27 with HBO Now subscribers receiving HBO Max for free. Currently, the upcoming streaming platform is set at $14.99 (USD) per month. The service will include the HBO content library such as Barry and Game of Thrones in addition to new original content from J.J. Abrams and other creators.
