Last week Mike Flanagan, creator of the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House, made several announcements regarding the cast of the next installment in the series, The Haunting of Bly Manor. Flanagan confirmed in a Twitter thread that the cast for the new installment would include Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Catherine Parker, T’Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, Amelia Eve, Benjamin Ainsworth, and Amelie Smith.
I’m beyond thrilled to announce that the inestimable, irreplaceable, invaluable Henry Thomas has joined the cast of THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR.

Bly Manor is Flanagan’s follow-up to The Haunting of Hill House, the Netflix supernatural horror drama series produced by Amblin Television and Paramount Television which premiered last October to positive reception. The series, inspired by Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel of the same name, tells the story of a family dealing with their past paranormal experiences while renovating the titular Hill House. Hill House currently holds a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 79/100 rating on Metacritic. Horror author Stephen King expressed his satisfaction with the series on Twitter, calling it “close to a work of genius.”
THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, revised and remodeled by Mike Flanagan. I don’t usually care for this kind of revisionism, but this is great. Close to a work of genius, really. I think Shirley Jackson would approve, but who knows for sure.

The second installment of this show also draws inspiration from a horror novel, this time The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. Some of the cast members of Hill House are among those confirmed for Bly Manor. This includes Henry Thomas, who played Hugh Crain, Catherine Parker, who played Poppy Hill, and Kate Siegel, who played Theo Crain and whom Flanagan himself describes as a “fan favorite.”
THE HAUNTING wouldn’t be THE HAUNTING without fan favorite KATE SIEGEL… and I’m elated to confirm that she’ll be joining us at BLY MANOR. @k8siegel @haunting

The new faces joining the cast are also notable, in particular Rahul Kohli, popular for his work on the CW series iZombie. An article from Deadline reported that Kohli would be a series regular, and that he would be “reportedly playing a small town guy with a worldly mindset, who has returned to the country to take care of his ailing mother.”
The Haunting of Bly Manor is scheduled to premiere in 2020. You can watch the trailer for the first part of the series, The Haunting of Hill House, below.
