James Remar has been cast on Grey’s Anatomy for a mysterious multi-episode arc, TVLine reports.
Few details about the role have been unveiled thus far; it has been confirmed, however, that Remar will make his first appearance early in the season. Though the identity of his character is currently “unclear,” many fans speculate that Remar will be portraying Alex Karev’s (Justin Chambers) deadbeat father.
Remar is perhaps best known in the television world for his role as Harry Morgan, the titular character’s father on Dexter. He has also guest-starred on Wilfred and The Vampire Diaries, and appeared in last year’s Oscar-nominated “Django Unchained”.
The two-hour Grey’s Anatomy season premiere airs September 26 on ABC.
