CBS renewed its entire daytime lineup for 2019-2020, according to Deadline. This will include all five of its daytime shows to include The Young and the Restless, The Price is Right, The Bold and the Beautiful, Let’s Make a Deal, and The Talk. Together the lineup earned 56 Emmy nominations, and is also predicted to be the highest watched daytime slate for its 32nd consecutive year.
“Our programming continues to maintain a level of achievement unheard of in today’s television landscape, thanks to the passion and dedication of the extraordinary producers, casts, staff and crew on the shows, our studio partners, and most importantly, the fans. They have our deepest gratitude, and we look forward to entertaining them for many years to come,” Angelica McDaniel, executive vice president of daytime programs at CBS said.
The Young and the Restless has held the title of most-watched drama on daytime television for over 30 years. The show averages 4.6 million viewers in 2018-19 so far, and The Bold and the Beautiful comes in at 3.61 million. The Talk averages about 2.39 million viewers and Let’s Make a Deal reels in about 3.1 million daily viewers.
The Price is Right brings in the largest audience out of the five shows averaging about 4.9 million viewers daily. The game show, which has been on air since 1972 will air its 9,000th episode this October. The five shows together produce the largest daytime lineup on broadcast networks. Following behind is ABC’s The View, and General Hospital along with NBC’s Days of Our Lives.
