Sophie Reynolds has been cast as a regular role in the Bad Boys spinoff series, L.A.’s Finest. Among others who have been cast include Jeremy Batiste, John Bishop, Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four), and Gabrielle Union (Bring It On). Reynolds is primarily known for her role as Ashely Parker on Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything. She starred alongside Cameron Boyce (Jessie), Murray Wyatt Rundus, and Felix Avitia.
L.A.’s Finest comes from writers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier, Sony Pictures TV, Jerry Bruckheimer Television and 2.0 Entertainment. It is set to premiere in 2019 exclusively on Charter Communications’ Spectrum as the platform’s first major original series.
The series will follow Syd Burnett (Union), who left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. She was last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel. Paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mom with an equally complex past, Burnett is pushed to examine whether her unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret. The two women don’t agree on much of anything, but they find common ground when it comes to taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles.
Reynolds is set to play Isabel, Patrick’s (Ryan McPartlin) rebellious and angsty teenage daughter. Like most teenagers, she has a complicated relationship with her step-mom, Nancy (Alba). Although defiant, Izzy is a bright, curious, and caring young woman who bonds with Nancy’s partner on the force, Syd.
She can also be seen on Youth & Consequences as Plain Jain, Mostly Ghostly: One Night in Doom House as Cammie, and Big Hero 6 The Series as Juniper.
