According to Netflix, The End of the F****ing World is getting a second season, which Charlie Covell will once again write. The series originally premiered on October 24 of 2017. The 8-episode series revolved around 17 year-old James (Alex Lawther), who is almost positive he is a psychopath and 17 year-old Alyssa (Jessica Barden) who is the moody, angsty new girl at school. The show is based on the comic by Charles Forsman. It centers around the two teens discovering themselves in a difficult time in life as they embark on a road trip to find Alyssa’s (Barden) father, who left home when she was a child.

According to Deadline, the executive producers will be Murray Ferguson, Ed Macdonald, Andy Baker, Charlie Covell, Dominic Buchanan, and Jonathan Entwistle. Season 2 will premiere globally on Netflix, except in the UK where it will premiere on Channel 4. Justin Brown, director of photography, was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for “Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series” for episode three.
Although many critics argued that the series should have ended at season one with the way things played out, Netflix’s plan to continue the series is exciting news for many. There are still many holes that viewers (mostly those who have yet to read the comic) want. There is also the possibility of new additions to add on to the story that could be enticing.
The End of the F***ing World has an 8.2/10 rating on IMDB. You can watch season 1 on Netflix.
