Michelle Monaghan will play as the female lead in Netflix’s drama series Messiah. She will play as Eva Geller, whom is an intelligence officer for the United States. She will use her knowledge and experience against Al-Masih (Mehdi Dehbi), a religious political figure in Syria. To prove that she is right, Eva will do everything she can to prosecute him while learning the truth about her own moral convictions.
Messiah is a 21st century political thriller. It focuses on the world’s reaction of a Middle Eastern that claims to be sent from God. The show answers whether or not he is in ten episodes. But during that time, there is a civil havoc while he charms the world’s media and the world itself. The show will be told from multiple character point of views which include: U.S. intelligence agent (Monagham), a Palestinian refugee, an Israeli Shin Bet officer, and a Latino preacher and his daughter. She show is meant to challenge its audience to help analyze what they believe and who they are.
Michael Petroni created the show and he was also the co-creator of ABC’s Miracles. He and Mark Burnett are the ones that brought the show to Netflix. Burnett will executive produce alongside: Roma Downey, Andrew Deane, and James McTeignue (whom will also direct).
Monaghan has played parts in: Patriot’s Day, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Gone Baby Gone and Mission: Impossible. She will also be in Mission: Impossible role in Fallout, which will be released on July 27. She has also be in both True Detective and The Path (where she has just came off of a starring role).
