Syfy has released a full teaser trailer for season three of The Expanse. In February, Syfy released a short teaser trailer to reveal the premiere date of the new season, April 11th. This trailer reveals that there is an all out war happening in the solar system with the Earth, Mars, and The Belt (the outer planets) fighting against each other.
Here is the new trailer:
This new trailer gives the audience more of an idea of what is going to happen in season three. The Rosinante crew is dealing with knowing that Belter Naomi Nagata (one of their own) handing an alien protomolecule to the leader of the Outer Planets Alliance. In the first season of the show the protomolecule was used to kill everyone that had lived in an asteroid station. It was also used in season two to a humanoid super solder which attacked Martian Marines.
With the intense space battles, as well as, the threat of the protomolecule, the violence seems like it will escalate with this coming season. Captain Jim Holden even said, “We just declared war on Earth.” This is happening while the crew is in search for Mei Meng (a young girl that went missing whom might be connected to those which created the protomolucule weapons).
Based on this trailer, the third season will finish adapting the rest of the Caliban’s War (second novel in the series by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck). The series takes on and draws attention to some of societies problems by showing humanity’s political, racial, and social divisions.
The third season of The Expanse will air next month on Wednesday, April 11th.
