The 2016 presidential election gave us a plentiful dose of political pundit predictions, but just incase you wanted some more, a new comedy revolving around pundits is coming to TV.
Libby & Malcolm is a new single-camera half-hour comedy just picked up by ABC, which will star Felicity Huffman and Courtney B. Vance. Kenya Barris (Black-ish) will executive produce along with Vijal Patel, IndieWire reports. E. Brian Dobbins, Huffman, and Vance will also executive produce.
Huffman and Vance star as “two polar-opposite political pundits who fall in love despite all odds and form an insta-family as well as a work partnership.”
Huffman, no stranger to ABC, was recently a star of the network’s American Crime, and in the past starred in Desperate Housewives and Sports Night. This year, Vance famously played Johnnie Cochran in FX’s The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story, for which he took home a lead actor Emmy, and also guest starred in Scandal last season.
This show comes in a timely manner, as pundits seem omnipresent in our post-election America. There’s not yet any word if Libby & Malcolm will tackle current political topics, but in the past Barris has covered difficult topics on Black-ish humorously.
