Donald Glover will be reducing his time with NBC’s Community. Glover will only be appearing in 5 episodes out of the seasons 13 episodes, playing as ex-high school football star Troy Barnes at “Greendale Community College”. Greendale is the fictional college of which the main characters in the show are a part.
Glover has been a writer for the hit show 30 Rock and has appeared on HBO’s Girls, as well as been a nerd chic’ rapper under the stage name of Childish Gambino. Glover being a key character in the show will present Community with yet another loss and hardship to write around. Last year Chevy Chase left the cast, lost and then regained creator Dan Harmon, and now they will watch as Glover parts ways to embark on more time as Childish Gambino.
Under the stage name of Childish Gambino, Glover toured last year across America in all states. Childish Gambino was a hit that started with a small underground cult following and has now grown since his last album Royalty which is more hip-hop than nerd chic and features more well known artist and producers.
