The CW’s hit superhero show The Flash has added former Harry Potter star Tom Felton to their cast as a series regular for season 3, as reported by TVLine.
Tom Felton first caught the eyes and attention of large audiences for his role as the wicked sorcerer Draco Malfoy in the film adaptation of the Harry Potter series. Felton charmed audiences with his portrayal of a wizard caught between being what is expected of him, villainous and dastardly, and what he actually felt he was, a person who sought to have control over his own life and choices. Over the course of the eight films, Felton went from bully elitist to a young adult being torn apart by a conflicting internal struggle who is coerced into aligning with the dark by family and fear, showcasing a good range for the young actor.
Now, Felton is set to play the role of Julian Dorn in The Flash. Dorn is a part of the CSI for Central City, like the protagonist Barry Allen, who grows suspicious of Barry, and begins to wonder if there is something underneath Barry’s good guy persona. Felton will debut on the show early on in season 3.
Earlier this month, The Flash star Grant Gustin announced via Twitter that the show would be tackling the original DC Comics famous and significant Flashpoint storyline. Gustin stated that the title of the first episode of season 3 would in fact be Flashpoint, to the shock and excitement of many fans
FLASHPOINT. This is not drill. https://t.co/nzq2NJh9pl

In the comics, Flashpoint deals with an alternate timeline created by Barry after he travels through time. In this alternate world, the identities of some heroes have changed, new tensions between factions have arisen, and Barry Allen finds his powers have vanished. According to Gustin, The show will not follow the original Flashpoint storyline exactly, the series will instead do it their own way and create a storyline that will borrow elements from the original but align more with what the series has written so far.
We're definitely doing this FP thing our own way.. I've read Flashpoint, I've seen the amazing animated film. This will be its own thing.

With the cast for the show expanding and adding more metahumans as the seasons go on, fans should be excited for what Felton can bring to the table and for who else will join the cast before season 3 premieres. The CW also announced that Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow would be coming together for a huge crossover event coming in December, adding even more excitement for superhero fans.
Season 3 of The Flash is set to premiere October 4, 2016.
