Syfy has found their host for their Syfy Presents Live from Comic -Con three day special.
During the Dan Deigo Comic-Con which runs between July 21-23, Will Arnett will be the host of Syfy’s live broadcast of the festivities. The network will have an outdoor stage set up where Arnett will provide live coverage of San Diego Comic-Con. The special will feature interviews with celebrities, behind the scenes access, and breaking news. As host, Arnett will interview stars from some of the biggest franchises, reveal sneak peeks from some of the most anticipated films and TV shows, and include audience interaction, games, and party coverage.
Back in April Syfy announced their plans to live stream the San Diego Comic-Con so fans from all over could enjoy the notorious event. This will be the first time Comic-Con will be featured as a live broadcast special of this magnitude. In many ways, the San Diego Comic-Con is the epitome of all Comic-Cons. As such, ticket sell out quickly and are hard to come by. But with this three night special, fans can feel like a part of the action minus the cosplay.
Deadline reports that Arnett said in a statement, “Comic-Con is the one time of the year when all nerds can set aside their personal opinions and focus on their petty differences. I wanna be there for that… cause I’m Batman.”
Aside from hosting the Syfy special, Arnett will also be at Comic-Con to promote the upcoming Lego Batman film for which he provides the lead voice.
The comedian recently appeared in Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Arnett is also known for his work on Arrested Development, 30 Rock and creating and starring in the Netflix original series Flaked. The five time-alum Emmy nominee is also the voice of the title character in Netflix’s BoJack Horseman.
Arnett won’t be the only one highlighting the wonder and nerdiness of Comic-Con. For the second year Conan O’Brien will also provide coverage every night of Comic-Con as he hosts his TBS show, Conan, from San Diego.
