He may have been the suitor from last season, but that doesn’t mean he can’t come back for another round. Freddie Stroma, who played Adam Cromwell, the suitor in season one of Lifetime’s hit drama UnReal, is coming back to the show, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Stroma was last seen on the show when he was left at the alter by his bride-to-be, who realized she didn’t want to marry someone who didn’t love her completely.
Fans shouldn’t expect a relationship between Stroma’s character and Rachel (Shiri Appleby) to start back up again, though. The creator of UnReal, Sarah Gertrude Shaprio, has said that Rachel is getting a new love interest this season. Rachel and Adam had a brief affair in the first season before Quinn (Constance Zimmer) told him to stop anything that would have developed between the two of them.
For season two of UnReal, the show is going where The Bachelor hasn’t gone yet by having an African American suitor for the new season of their show Everlasting, which is a spoof of The Bachelor in and of itself. The show is also bolstering its star power for the second season, as Ioan Gruffudd has been tapped as a guest star, where his character will be potentially be a new love interest for Quinn.
And though Stroma’s character didn’t find true love in the show, Stroma himself found true love all because of UnReal. People Magazine revealed that Stroma and Johanna Braddy, who played Anna Martin on season one of UnReal and Shelby Wyatt on ABC’s Quantico got engaged earlier in May. So while their UnReal alter egos may not get their happy ending, Stroma and Braddy hopefully will.
In addition to appearing on UnReal this season, Stroma is set to appear in ABC’s midseason show Time After Time, which tells the story of H.G. Wells and he travels in time to modern day New York City as a way to capture the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper.
Fans of Pitch Perfect may recognize Stroma as Luke, the station manager at the radio station where Beca and Jesse work. For people who prefer more of a fantasy film, Stroma portrayed Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter films.
Season two of UnReal premieres on June 6 at 10 p.m. on Lifetime. As a way to catch up on the first season, all of the episodes are available to stream on Hulu.
