Hollywood’s resident boy-next-door, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, has recently confirmed his guest appearance on the season 4 premiere episode of Mindy Kaling’s comedy The Mindy Project. Gordon-Levitt’s performance alongside Kaling will debut later this year, when the fourth season of the series premieres on Hulu.
Gordon-Levitt signed on to play “Matt” in the premiere episode, a charming Hollywood producer who Kaling’s character is married to in an alternate universe. Unfortunately, his role as Mindy’s hypothetical love interest is limited to a single episode, but his appearance in the season 4 debut certainly gives The Mindy Project an incredible first episode to kick off a groundbreaking season.
The Mindy Project recently moved to Hulu after being canceled by Fox in May, following its third season. The show, a romantic comedy created by and starring Mindy Kaling (who rose to stardom following her role in The Office) follows Mindy Lahiri, a doctor who struggles to balance her career and romantic life while dealing with quirky coworkers and friends. The Mindy Project has been relatively successful since its premiere in 2012 thanks to its sizable cult following, which should make its transition to online platform, Hulu, go smoothly.
Look for Joseph Gordon-Levitt on the season premiere of The Mindy Project, later this year on Hulu.
