The 2026 Emmy Awards have officially begun. The 78th Emmy Awards ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the event will begin tonight at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET.

8 p.m.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Emmys have officially begun with the host doing the opening number. The host Hargitay is doing a parody of the popular song I Love Rock And Roll. Jennifer Coolidge (Girl Group, A Minecraft Movie) handed Hargitay a booba and rode onto stage with a horse.

Hargitay is the first female host for the Emmys in fifteen years. Hargitay mentions that she is greatly moved to be given this honor to host the Emmys, storytelling goes far back to the stone age. Hargitay is parodying the Nicole Kidman AMC ad.

8:08 p.m.

The first presenter to make the stage is Amy Poehler, she is announcing Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Poehler is opening the award with some jokes about laughing at the winner of this award.

Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy – Kate O’ Flynn -WINNER!!!!!!

O’Flynn is the first time Emmy winner for this award. O’Flynn

8:11 p.m.

Two Time Emmy winner Zendaya has made it to the stage to present Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Lead Actress in a Comedy Series – Jean Smart – WINNER!!!!!!!!

Smart is collecting her eighth Emmy win and her fifth win for her portrayal of Deborah Vance. Smart is giving her thanks to Paul W. Anderson her anchor in life when it comes to her winning this award.

8:18 p.m.

Coming to the stage now are David Boreanaz and Sarah Michelle Gellar to announce the winner for lead actor in a limited series.

Lead Actor in a Limited Series – Matthew Rhys – WINNER!!!!!!

Rhys is collecting his second Emmy win after eight nominations. Rhys is thanking Claire Danes for contributing and allowing him to join the project that has presented him with this Emmy win.

8:23 p.m.

Alan Cumming and Rossum are making their way to the stage to announce the winner for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series – Allison Janney – WINNER!!!!!!!

Janney is collecting her eighth Emmy for her work. Janney is overzealous when it comes her winning this award. She thanks Debora Cahn, Janice Williams, Alex Graves, Keri, the cast of the series The Diplomat, Ted Sarandos, CAA, Henze, and Ilana.

8:29 p.m.

The next category is Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series is being presented by Florence Pugh and Julia Garner are making their way to the stage to present this award.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series – Rhea Seehorn – WINNER!!!!!!!

Seehorn is crying tears of joy for winning this award and is sharing her congratulations and is thanking Vince Gilligan for creating sets and giving her the role of a lifetime in Pluribus.

8:38 p.m.

Hargitay is walking around and asking actors what their first jobs were. Nick Offerman was an erotic painter for houses.

Sofia Vergara is on her way to the stage to announce Best supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Best supporting Actor in a Comedy Series – Stephen Root – WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!

Root is thrilled and delighted to accept this Emmy win. He was happy to be included in this incredible journey when he was apart of the series Widow’s Bay. Root is very thankful for the award.

8:46 p.m.

Coming to the stage now is the cast of Baywatch tv show. The cast is here to present the award for Reality Competition Program.

John Mulaney is presenting the award for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Mulaney talks about how some of the categories do method acting while the others give it their all when it comes to their roles. Mulaney is cracking jokes beforing announcing the winner. Mulaney is reading a book called A Real Man’s Man.

Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series – Noah Wyle – WINNNER!!!!!!!!!!

This is the third Emmy win and tenth nomination for the Emmys this year. Wyle thanks his fellow nominees and is grateful for all the people he has worked with on HBO. Wyle mentions that he is a Hollywood kid and being an actor is his favorite club to join.

8:59 p.m.

Coming to the stage to present the next award are Rachel Sennott and O’Dessa A’Zion.

Best Supporting Actor in A Drama Series – Tom Pelphrey – WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pelphrey thanks God for this win and his sobriety. He thanks his directors and Mark Ruffelo and overjoyed with this outstanding win.

Hargitay is doing a Law and Order sketch in between the award segments and Taylor Swift is guest starring on the sketch.

9:11 p.m.

Hargitay is introducing Emma. D’arcy and Emillia Clarke to the stage to introduce lead actress in a limited series. They had a nice bit where Emilia spoke in High Valeryeon from Game of Thrones.

Lead Actress in a Limited Series – Sally Fields – WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is Fields fourth Emmy win and tenth Emmy nomination. Fields is incredibly grateful for Night Owl, Netflix, and Canada our neighbors in the North. Fields is grateful for being apart of the arts and urges us that arts cannot go silenced.

9:16 p.m.

Amanda Peet and Jon Hamm are making their way to the stage to announce the winner for Lead actor in a comedy series.

Lead Actor in a Comedy Series – Matthew Rhys – WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!

Rhys is walking away with two Emmys for Lead actor in both a limited series and now a lead actor in a comedy series. Rhys is back on the stage to give his thanks and praise to the people who have gotten him this far in his life.

9:22 p.m.

Scott Caan and L.L. Cool J are on the stage to announce the Emmy for best writing in a comedy series.

Writing in a Comedy Series – Katie Dippold – WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!

Katie Dippold brags that Emmy will be placed in front of mirrors in her home so that it is within eye line of everyone who enters her home. Dippold thanks her boyfriend and the cast and crew for her show.

9:26 p.m.

Hargitay is sing about all the shows that have ended. Andrew Rannells is on stage singing alongside Hargitay while behind them is a panel of shows that have ended.

9:32 p.m.

Hargitay is showing a clip of her in a horror movie called Ghoulies. Making their way to the stage are Peter Krause and Shailene Woodley Directing for a Drama series.

Directing for a Drama series – Saul Metzstein – WINNER!!!!!!!!!!

Metzstein mentions that he loves his crew when it came to Slow Horses and is very grateful for the award.

9:36 p.m.

Coming to the stage is Akwafina and Paul Anthony Kelly to announce the nomminess for best Variety Show.

Variety Show – The Late Show With Stephen Colbert – WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Colbert mentions how much the business must look out for the young generation when it comes to late night shows like this one. Colbert thanks his wife for beinf his only audience he cares about.

Coming to the stage now is SeeLow Hernandez to present the award for Directing for a Comedy Series.

This is Murai’s first Emmy win and is thanking his entire cast and crew for this award and thanking Katie Dippold for the award. Murai also thanks his family and wife.

9:48 P.M.

Juliana has made his way to the stage to shed light on a single person who has left a lasting impact on the acting community named Michael J. Fox who has earned the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.

Michael J. Fox is on stage now and giving his thanks to people and friends regarding him earning the Bob Hope award. Despite him contracting Parkinson’s that did not deter him from acting and he appreciates the support he has earned on his journey.

10:04 p.m.

Coming to the stage are David Harbour and Linda Cardellini to annouce the winner for best writer in a drama series.

Best Writer in a Drama Series – Vince Gilligan – WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vince Gilligan is walking away with another Emmy when it comes to this award. Vince notes how for the past ten years is something you can’t make this up. Gilligan gives his thanks and makes his exit.

Hargitay welcomes Sally Fields to the stage to give tribute to the late Dolly Parton. Dolly was a humanitarian and was a person that will be greatly missed and that we have lost an angel. Reba McEntire is now on stage to sing a tribute to Dolly Parton.
