The CBS series Sheriff County has a new doctor on the case. Noah Reid (Kevin From Work, Score A Hockey Musical) will play Dr. Hudson “Hud” Henshaw alongside Max Thieriot (Jumper, The Pacifier) and Morena Baccarin (Deadpool, Deadpool 2).

Reid is most prominently known for his role on the hit Canadian sit com Schitt’s creek. His role has an oppurtunity to go from a one time guest star to a possible recurring character. Currently, a medical spin off set within the Sheriff County universe is in development. If it gets the greenlight Reid is set to headline. The project is titled Edge Med, pertaining to it’s location in edge water California.

Sherrif county got its start in a similar manner as Baccarin guest stared on the original series fire county. Baccarin plays Sheriff Mickey Fox. 

Dr. Henshaw or “hud” is the head of the ER at Edgewater Memorial Hospital which informally is known as “Edge Med”. His roots go back to the backwoods town of Deadwater where both his parents suffer from addiction issues. He paved his own way through medical while refusing to take any dirty cash that those from his past may have offered him. His version of hypocratic oath pertains to those who step into his ER, not those who drunkenly mouth of at the bar.

Hud’s back story is similar to that of Sherrif Mickey Fox. Both come from very little but attempt to help those in need despite their criminal parentage. Fox’s father was ex-con and marijuana supplier.

Season two of sheriff county is set to premiere on October 9th. The development project is executive produced by Matt Lopez (Bedtime Stories, Race To Witch Mountain), Thieriot, Joan Rater (Grey’s Anatomy), Tony Phelan (Grey’s Anatomy, A Small Light), KristieAnne Reed (National Treasure, Hightown), and Jerry Brukheimer (Transformers, Top Gun).
