
Fans of the series Snowfall can rejoice because The Drop: A Snowfall Saga is coming in just one week. For those who wish to prepare themselves for what’s coming the trailer has dropped on YouTube for everyone to watch.
For those who don’t know, The Drop: A Snowfall Saga is a series set in the 1990s after the events of Snowfall. In LA the central focus shifts from drugs to rap as the territories of LA are being controlled by Bloods and Crips. The main character of the series Wanda Bell, seeks to make a profit off of the emerging rap business. The series will not only focus on music and crime but it will also add drama and tension for the viewers who watch the series.
In the trailer, we see Wanda talking about what she went through when she was trying to gain sobriety. In one scene we see Wanda negotiating with people, trying to spread the word that rap music will be a gold rush for LA. Wanda says: “A new world opened up, and I’m at the front of it.” The trailer highlights Wanda as a businesswoman and will also be in some tight spots when it comes to her trying to get her goals accomplished. We also see a new character a young man who is interested in rap but the people around him are constantly telling him that he has no place in rap music.
The cast consists of Fatimah Hassan (For Some Are Angels, 80 for Brady), Zaakirah Hisle (The Mattachine Family, You People), Rico E. Anderson (Robot Dracula, Dorothea), Andrew Etzel (Class of ’09, Reasonable Doubt), Gail Bean (Harlem, Both Eyes Open), Isaiah John (All Day and a Night, When the Streetlights Go On), Mykelti Williamson (They Fight, Is God Is), Eric Balfour (Smoked, Hacks), Asante Blackk (The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, You Tryna Say You Love Me?), Isidora Goreshter (Slay, The Portrait), and James Landry Hébert (Euphoria, The Wolf and the Lamb).
The series is set to premiere on September 8, 2026. In the meantime, for those who are interested check the series Snowfall on Hulu in order to get caught up for the main event.
