Big Mistakes is expanding its cast as work gets underway on season two. According to Variety, the Netflix comedy has added Lorenzo de Moor (Another Simple Favor, You, Me & Tuscany) and Poorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever, Deli Boys) in recurring roles for its second season, which is now in production.
Variety notes De Moor will play a character named Leo, while Jagannathan will appear as Dréa. Details about both characters and how they will fit into the new season are currently being kept under wraps.
They join returning stars Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek, Good Grief), Taylor Ortega (Welcome to Flatch, Kim Possible), Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne, Lady Bird), Jack Innanen (Adults, The Dessert), Boran Kuzum (The Protector, The Magnificent Century: Kösem) and Abby Quinn (Mad About You, Knock at the Cabin). Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds, Sharp Objects) has also been promoted to series regular for season two.
De Moor has appeared in films including Dolce Fine Giornata, Another Simple Favor and You, Me & Tuscany. His upcoming projects include The Resurrection of the Christ: Part One, the Cliffhanger reboot and Maserati: The Brothers.
Jagannathan currently stars in Lanterns and recently appeared as Lucky in the Hulu comedy Deli Boys. Her previous television credits include Never Have I Ever, The Night Of and Better Call Saul. She has also appeared in films including Delhi Belly, Wolfs and Turtles All the Way Down.
The first season of Big Mistakes follows siblings Nicky and Morgan, played by Levy and Ortega, who become caught up in organized crime after attempting a misguided theft for their dying grandmother. After being blackmailed, the pair are forced into increasingly dangerous assignments despite being poorly prepared for the criminal world around them.
Levy also created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Rachel Sennott (Shiva Baby, Bottoms) co-created the series and serves as executive producer, while Anne-Marie McGintee, Jacqui Rivera and Timothy Greenberg also serve as executive producers, with McGintee representing Not a Real Production Company.
Netflix has not revealed additional story details for season two, leaving the identities of Leo and Dréa among the biggest questions as production moves forward.
