Attention fans of the series The Diplomat. Netflix has released an official trailer for the fourth season. Let us return to Kate Wyler, and see what else will befall her and how she will overcome it.
For those who don’t know, The Diplomat follows a story about the career of Kate Wyler, a U.S. diplomat who navigates a massive international crisis after a mysterious attack on a British aircraft carrier, all while managing her crumbling marriage with a fellow political star Hal Wyler. According to Deadline, here is the official logline for season four: “In Season 4, two marriages threaten to eat each other alive. One catastrophic moment shatters the fragile peace Kate Wyler brokered between the US and UK, as well as the crumbling marriage she’s trying to save. While she fights to stem the bleeding, President Grace Penn and VP Hal Wyler’s conspiracy to steal Russia’s most powerful weapon hurtles the United States toward war. Kate and Todd, at best an uneasy pair, unite to stop the Grace-Hal alliance from upending the balance of power abroad and at home.”
In the teaser, we see Kate at work and there are multiple shots of powerful figures in London. Kate is also seen reciting her marriage vows with her chaotic husband, followed by a scene of the Queen’s Guard opening fire on what we can only assume to be enemies of the state. People including Kate are being ushered away from the chaos. It’s safe to assume that the stakes have never been higher. With all this discourse, will there truly be a neat resolution for all of this turmoil?
