

2026 is said to be a biggest productive year for the highly renowned Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. Reported by Comicbook, niot only is the second season of the live adaptation currently under, but a new film dubbed, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, will be arriving on Paramount+, but in a shocking twist one of the original cast member believed the series would flopped. The actor in question is Dante Basco (Trese, Hook), who have voiced Zuko in the original animated series have stated that he had doubts wether the series was able to be successful.

According to Comicbook, Basco has stated on his instagram, page,” There were like twenty-foot murals of classic Nickelodeon shows, and I’m reading through the script. It’s like this epic anime-inspired Asian tale, and I’m like, “This is not Nickelodeon.” Following numerous leaks about the upcoming film, fans are questioning what lies ahead for the actor. Because of a time skip, neither he nor the rest of the cast will be reprising their roles; instead, the adult Fire Lord Zuko will be portrayed by Steven Yeun (Invincible, The Walking Dead).
Stated by Comicbook,, this will surely not be the end for Dante in the bending universe, as the franchise is ever expanding with new projects in the workshop, one being the new animated series, Avatar: Seven Havens, scheduled for 2027. As time goes by, the series will be the crowning jewel of Nickelodeon, and represents that a captivating narrative will leave a lasting legacy. The massive success of Avatar: The Last Airbender has allowed the franchise to expand far beyond its original animated roots, successfully branching into various multimedia platforms.
