The final stretch of the thrilling journey of Prime Video’s famous series, The Boys, has concluded, delivering a peaceful ending that contrasts with the series’ usual gore and violence. Reported by Screenrant, the final scene of the series had the team in intense battle with Homelander, played by Anthony Starr (Cobweb, Banshee), they were able to killed him by draining his powers making him vulnerable and ending with a crowbar to the head. Furthermore, a shocking twist was Butcher, played by Karl Urban (Star Trek, Mortal Kombat II) was set to release the deadly supe-killing virus, in which Hugie, played by Jack Quaid (Scream, Novocaine) was forced to stop him, by shooting him.
According to Screenrant, the surviving characters each get their own happy ending. Kimiko, played by Karen Fukuhara (Bullet Train, Suicide Squad), visits Paris to learn about her na abilities and to honor Frenchie, played by Tomer Capone (Slingshot, Faude). Additionally, Hughie and Annie, with Annie portrayed by Erin Moriarty (Jessica Jones, Gen V), have a baby girl whom they name Robin. Many fans believed their daughter would be a supe, but that theory was quickly debunked.
The series creator, Eric Kirpke (Supernatural, Timeless) spoke in an interview with Screenrant’s Liam Crowley about what final means for the series future. Liam Crowley starts of the converstation,”The final shot of this main series is a smiling Hughie Campbell looking at the sky to his pregnant girlfriend, Starlight. That kid, you got plans for him?” Eric Kripke laughly replies to his question,”No, the only born superhero is Ryan. Everyone else has to be injected. I’d like to think that they’ve learned their lesson and they’re going to give baby Robin a happy normal life.”
Liam Crowley continues the conversations with,” If Gen V ever gets a future season down the line-“. Eric Kripke gives a firm response,”I wouldn’t get your hopes up, but I do think that there are other stories to be told in this universe, hopefully, that we can bring a lot of those characters in and keep telling their stories.”
This is not the end of the iconic franchise, as numerous spin-off project are in production which includes Vought Rising. All episodes and seasons of The Boys are available to stream on Prime Video.
