According to Comicbook, the Supe’s sudden decision is two-fold: first, she brutally executes Cindy, played by Ess Hödlmoser (Code 8, Terror Train)—to protect her teammate. However, this act of salvation comes at a steep psychological price, ultimately leaving her desensitized to the surrounding carnage. She also comes to realize that Butcher, played by Karl Urban (Star Trek, Mortal Kombat II) ideal will only result in more lives being sacrificed, in which she then fled the team.

Reported by Comicbook, it is due to this numbness that Annie decide to go rogue and infiltrated a Vought meeting. In which her and small team executed  by releasing video footage showcasing the true Homelander, played by Anthony Starr (Banshee, Cobweb), who is seen threatening the passengers of falling airplane. which in turn terrified the audience and he was about top do the same , but was stopped by Sister Sage, played by Susan Heyward (Poltergeist, Powers). Furthermore, by sowing doubt among the superhero’s admirers, she is inching closer to finally taking him down.

These decisions reshape the endgame. Starlight becomes unpredictable, not just to her enemies, but to her own team. Stated by Comicbook, this unpredictability of her deeds is also showcase that she is willing to use the V-one virus to take down Homelander, even if it means that she has die in the process. Only time will tell what the fate of the Earth will be, as all sides begin to converge.
