Sky has released the first teaser trailer for Saturday Night Live UK, offering audiences an early look at the cast set to headline the British adaptation of the long-running sketch comedy franchise, Deadline reports. The short preview introduces the performers as the show prepares to debut its first season.
The thirty-second teaser shows the cast walking together down a London street before entering a venue illuminated by a neon Saturday Night Live UK sign. It ends with “Live from London, it’s Saturday night,” mirroring the original’s classic opening and signaling the franchise’s official UK edition.
Deadline announced the inaugural cast includes Hammed Animashaun (Black Ops, Stath Lets Flats), Ayoade Bamgboye (Dreaming Whilst Black, Live at the Apollo), Larry Dean (Live at the Apollo, Roast Battle), Celeste Dring (This Time with Alan Partridge, The Windsors), and George Fouracres (Pls Like, The Windsors).
The ensemble also features Ania Magliano (Live at the Apollo, The Stand Up Sketch Show), Annabel Marlow (The Emily Atack Show, The Stand Up Sketch Show), Al Nash (Comedy Central Live, The Comedy Guide to Life), Jack Shep (The Mash Report, Comedy Central Live), Emma Sidi (Starstruck, Pls Like), and Paddy Young (The Stand Up Sketch Show, Comedy Central Live).
According to Deadline, the teaser serves as a formal introduction to the ensemble ahead of the series premiere. Like its American counterpart, the UK version will feature weekly celebrity hosts and musical guests while presenting topical sketches and comedy segments in front of a live studio audience. The series is executive produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, whose original program has remained a staple of American television since its debut in 1975.
mxdwn has previously followed the project’s development as it moved toward production. Earlier coverage reported that the series had secured a showrunner tasked with bringing a more chaotic and energetic tone to the British adaptation, signaling Sky’s intent to capture the unpredictability that defines the long-running sketch series while allowing it to evolve for a new audience.
Taken together, the teaser and cast reveal mark a major step toward the show’s debut. Saturday Night Live UK is scheduled to premiere on March 21, 2026, airing live on Sky and streaming on NOW.
