

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jessica Belkin (Singing in my sleep, Sleeping with My Student) will be joining the cast of the new Baywatch reboot. Belkin has joined the cast of the Fox and Fremantle show in the series regular role of Charlie Vale who is the biological daughter of Baywatch captain Hobie Buchannon, son of Mitch Buchannon, who David Hasselhoff (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie) portrayed in the original series.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the official character description for Belkins character Charlie is as follows: “Raised in Texas, Charlie is the biological daughter of Baywatch captain Hobie Buchannon – the child he never knew. She leaves her complicated home life in Galveston and shows up on her father’s doorstep with one goal: earn her place as a Baywatch lifeguard. Fearless, passionate, and occasionally reckless, Charlie has all the makings of a Buchannon legend. She has a lot to learn, however, and the father she never met might be exactly the mentor she’s always needed.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Belkin joins previously announced cast members on the series, which includes Stephen Amell (The Borderlines, Little Lorraine), who is playing Hobie Buchannon and David Chokachi (Escape From Paradise, In Dog We Trust), who is playing Cody Madison. Matt Nix (Burn Notice, The Gifted) serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside McG, Michael Berk (Soul Surfer, The Wizard), Greg Bonann (Element of Gold, Avalon: Beyond the Abyss), Doug Schwartz (Cabin Pressure, Steel Chariots), Dante Di Loreto (The Mosquito Coast, Glee) and Mike Horowitz (Burn Notice, Prison Break).
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the reboot of the series will feature 12 episodes and will debut in the 2026-27 season on Fox Entertainment and Fremantle. Production is set to begin this spring on Los Angeles’ famed Venice Beach, in addition to the historic FOX Studio Lot in Century City.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Belkin’s credits include Legally Blonde prequel series Elle, and she recently appeared in one episode of The Hunting Wives‘ first season. She will also be appearing in Jake Szymanski’s (The Package, Beef) Bad Day.
