Dee Dee and Ash are in a forest, burying a body. Ash is getting more and more nervous around Dee, and he asks her why they have to keep killing. She refuses to tell him. Ash doesn’t reveal to her about the note he got. Dee then gets a call: they have a change in plans in their mission. They have a new job. Elena tries to track down Alison again. She gets information from her boss about her girlfriend Stephanie. Elena takes this information and gets to work.
Simon confronts Jay about Ingrid’s alibi. Simon knows that Jay and Ingrid have had a romantic history. Simon tries to uncover more information about Ingrid, but Jay doesn’t give him any helpful insights, as he feels that it’s not his place.
Still holding a grudge, Elena calls Lou strictly about work. She asks Lou to track down an address for Stephanie. Lou agrees, but says that they need to talk about Joel. Lou tells her that she spoke to Maria, and Elena immediately hangs up the phone. Then, she gets another call from her colleague Alex regarding one of the murders, the one that was staged as a suicide. Elena knows that it’s impossible, as there were two bullet marks; one in his head and another on the wall. Elena suspects this was a murder. Issac and Ruby bring in Luther for questioning about shooting Ingrid. Luther refuses to cooperate, but they are able to uncover that he despises Aaron due to how he treated Paige.
Elena sends Simon the photos of one of the murder victims and explains that he was adopted and looking for his birth family. It relates to Paige, as she was looking through adoption agencies. Elena is on the adoption website through a profile of one of the other victims and finds that he has several half-sibling matches, one of them being Aaron. While Simon wonders how Paige got mixed up with all of this, Sam and Anya reveal to him that they made a fake social media profile to get in touch with the professor suspected of having an affair with Paige. Simon immediately tracks down the professor.

When Simon arrives at the University, he confronts the professor. He seems scared at first, but he sits Simon down and explains everything. He first explains that Paige’s ex-roommate, Katie, is the reason he had to leave, and was actually the one prying on him in the first place. He then explains his meetings with Paige were him getting her on the path to becoming a doctor, just like her mother. Simon and the professor talk some more about Paige, and it is revealed that a certain incident happened. Just before Paige got into drugs, she went to a party where someone slipped something into her drink. She blacked out before waking up in a boy’s bed with no memory of the night prior. Simon cannot believe what he is hearing. Paige was raped. The student that the professor believes did this was the one who beat Aaron in the gym. Simon knows he was set up by that student, as he was the one who lied to him about the professor having relationships with students.
Elena goes to a house and drops off a card with her contact information. She believes that Alison and Stephanie are in this house. After that, she returns home, where Lou is waiting for her. Lou explains how Joel had a friend who always wanted to be a mom, but never had a romantic interest. It is then revealed that Joel was a donor to this woman. Lou then explains that the only reason a picture of her existed in Maria’s house was that Maria wanted to know just a bit more about her father’s side of the family. Lou tells Elena that Maria wants to meet both of them properly and have dinner that night. Elena reluctantly agrees.
Cornelius meets up with Simon and tells him that Rocco is asking for more money. Simon agrees, but is getting more impatient. Cornelius then revealed that he saw Paige leave Aaron’s flat the night he was murdered. He found the knife and disposed of it in the river to cover Paige’s tracks. Cornelius believes that Paige killed Aaron. This leaves Simon stunned.
Elena then gets a phone call from Stephanie and is instructed to meet her in a secluded parking lot. When Elena gets to the car, a figure rolls down the window. It’s Dee Dee! Dee then drives Elena to a secluded house. There, Elena is taken into the house, and immediately knows something is wrong. Standing on a tarp, flashbacks to memories with her favorite person, Joel. Suddenly, Ash comes up from behind and shoots her dead.

This episode had a lot of information. Elena was such a great character, and added so much to the overall story, so it was a bit shocking and sad to see her get killed off. She had just had that argument with Lou as well, which was their last conversation. We learn more about Paige’s backstory and the relationship she had with Cornelius, which was interesting because it revealed why he cared so much about her; Aaron was terrible towards her. Simon continues to believe anything he’s told, which is a bit odd to watch at first, but then we learn that he is so desperate to get any answers he can. The storyline of what happened to Paige regarding the other student was also very shocking. We learn through Simon, which is an interesting way to tell the story because it’s through his POV. Solid climax episode.
