The first trailer for Invincible Season Four has been released by Prime Video, announcing that the animated series is formally preparing for the eagerly awaited Viltrumite War arc, which will feature a significant new hero. According to ComicBook, the revelation follows the dramatic Season Three conclusion, in which Mark Grayson narrowly avoided death in a vicious battle with Conquest, momentarily postponing but not eliminating the impending menace of the Viltrumite Empire.
As reported by ComicBook, Season Four will pick up immediately where the previous chapter left off, placing Mark Grayson and Nolan Grayson at the center of an all-out intergalactic conflict. With Conquest’s defeat alerting the Empire, Grand Regent Thragg voiced by Lee Pace (Foundation, Guardians of the Galaxy) is set to make his long-awaited move. The new season will focus on assembling a coalition of heroes capable of surviving both space and combat against Viltrumites, raising the stakes higher than ever before.
One of the biggest takeaways from the trailer, ComicBook notes, is the official debut of Tech Jacket, a fan-favorite hero created by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Outcast) and artist E.J. Su (Blood & Iron, Tech Jacket). While the character’s standalone comic series never reached the heights of Invincible, Tech Jacket played a key role during major comic arcs, including the Invincible War, and earned a reputation as one of the few heroes strong enough to fight Viltrumites and live to tell the tale.
ComicBook emphasizes that Tech Jacket’s significance stems not only from his strength but also from his ability to function in space, which is a crucial advantage as Nolan and Allen the Alien recruit fighters beyond Earth. In the comics, Tech Jacket collaborates with Allen and Nolan on missions to find weaponry and friends that can take on Thragg, eventually emerging as a vital component of the war effort. His appearance suggests that the animated series will remain mostly true to the original work while allowing for some surprises.
ComicBook also confirms that Invincible Season Four will premiere on March 18 on Prime Video. While Tech Jacket’s voice actor has not yet been revealed, the season will introduce several high-profile additions, including Matthew Rhys (The Americans, Perry Mason) as Dinosaurus and Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead, Black Panther) as Universa. With the Viltrumite War officially underway, Season Four is shaping up to be the series’ most ambitious chapter yet.
