

Showtime has released a trailer for the second season of Dreaming Whilst Black. The second season will follow the adventures of Kwabena and his filmmaking pursuits.
For those who haven’t seen the series, Dreaming Whilst Black tells a story about an aspiring filmmaker that is trapped in his recruitment job. One day he is given an opportunity to pursue his passion and must decide if he is brave enough to chase his dream. According to Deadline, the second season of the series will show the main character Kwabena near the brink of his first major directing opportunity where he will helm a radical “color blind” historical drama.
Deadline mentions this statement from the actor and showrunner, Adjani Salmon (Juice, The Donor) had this to say regarding the second season coming to Paramount+ “‘I am really excited for U.S. audiences to see the new season,’ Salmon told Deadline. ‘Season 2 was a labour of love, which is funnier, bolder and spicier than ever. We continue to follow Kwabs pursuing his dreams, delving more into his chaotic personal life and trying to get back with his ex-girlfriend Vanessa (played by Babirye Bukilwa) – who feel like they’re the new Ross and Rachel of our times.’”

The second season for the series will premiere on Paramount+ on February 20, 2026.
