According to Deadline, after 40 years of the release of the film Three Amigos, actor and two-time Golden Globe nominee, Chevy Chase (The Christmas Letter, Glisten and the Merry Mission), recently reported that he would like a reunion with his two other cast members, Steve Martin (Pepsi Zero Sugar: Great Acting or Great Taste, Father of The Bride) and Martin Short (Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom). The two actors are currently on the award-winning Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building, which will be starting its sixth season.
Deadline reported that Chase recently stated in a recent appearance via People, “Right now they’re busy on TV making that ‘I Only have murders in my building,” Chase said. “It’s a good show. Yes, It’s good, they’re good, but they really are lacking me. That’s where we gotta get going…If you really want to have a movie with Steve and Marty you have to have me.” All three actors are alumni of Saturday Night Live. Chase admitted that he misses the two other actors.
“I miss them, that’s all I’m saying. I really miss them, they’re great.” Chase admitted to Deadline.
John Hoffman (Grace and Frankie, The Larry Sanders Show), who is the executive producer of Only Murders in the Building, stated to Deadline back in 2022 that he had wanted Chase to potentially guest star in the series. “There will be plans for many, many other amigos and otherwise and that’s in process right now. It’s very exciting.”
Deadline also reported that on October 6, 2025, Only Murders In The Building was renewed with the production location in New York and London.
