You're Not The Boss of Me Now! Malcolm In The Middle Returns In a New Series

After saying goodbye to Malcolm in the Middle almost twenty years ago, finally nineteen years later, it is returning back to most streaming services. Malcolm in the Middle is back with a surprise trailer that just shadow dropped. After a reunion of the cast and a vast expression of desire for a return in 2016, they finally return with a new short story.

Surprise! The four part series is called, “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” and according to Screen Rant as well as a trailer dropped for a sequel for an older Frankie Muniz and family on Hulu and Disney+ on April tenth in 2026. Most of the cast returns from the old series along with a new director, Dewey Erik per Sullivan directs the four episodes after receiving a master’s degree at Harvard University. Creator Linwood Boomer is writing the new episodes and Ken Kwapis is directing all the episodes of the show. There is little under four months until it premieres shows that the family comes together for the parents 40th wedding anniversary leading to the usual family pain that ensues even when you are older.

The new show is supposed to be nostalgic for people who watched the show in the past and newcomers alike with how true it stays to the old series, but also stays fresh for new watchers. It keeps with the old fourth wall breaks and even continues from where they left off from the old series. The old series finished with Malcolm working part-time and going to school, not having any partner at the time. However, now it is shown that he has a girlfriend rather a wife than having a wife or child. The new trailer and series leaves many more questions than answers but those answers will be answered soon, the fans hope.
