Dropout is expanding the Dimension 20 universe with Gladlands, a new season that focuses on post-apocalyptic storytelling while maintaining the series’ character-driven core. The trailer, published this week, depicts a brutal wasteland scenario in which survival is dependent on teamwork and mental resilience as much as strategy. The season debuts on January 7, with new episodes released weekly on Wednesdays for a six-week run.
Once again, the table is guided by Brennan Lee Mulligan (Dimension 20, Game Changer), whose storytelling style balances sharp humor with deeply felt drama. Gladlands introduces Vic Michaelis (Very Important People, Game Changer) and Kimia Behpoornia (Abbott Elementary, Hacks) to the dome for the first time, joining returning players Ally Beardsley (Dimension 20, Dropout Presents), Oscar Montoya (Minx, Bless the Harts), Zac Oyama (Game Changer, Home Economics), and Jacob Wysocki (Pitch Perfect, Dimension 20). The mix of veteran players and newcomers suggests a season built on evolving group dynamics and unpredictable choices.
Set in a world shaped by collapse, Gladlands appears less focused on spectacle and more on how people rebuild meaning after everything familiar has been stripped away. The trailer hints at themes of community, trust, and moral compromise, offering space for quieter character moments alongside the chaos. Each episode will be followed by an Adventuring Party talkback, allowing the cast to reflect on decisions made inside the dome and the emotional fallout that follows.
Since its rebranding from CollegeHumor, Dropout has slowly carved out a separate identity based on creator-driven, ad-free programming that values originality and community. The platform has had great success with Dimension 20, which has evolved into one of its most defining and ambitious series, constantly reimagining what actual play storytelling may look like. With each successive season, the program has delved into new genres, emotive character arcs, and innovative world-building, earning a devoted fan base along the way. Gladlands appears to be continuing that progression by introducing a post-apocalyptic setting that focuses on themes of survival, connection, and optimism.
