According to Deadline, fans of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things are getting excited for season five. Created by The Duffer Brothers, the first four seasons hit Netflix’s top ten television chart. This is the first time a show has had all four seasons on the top ten list at the same time. Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder (Lucas, Speed Racer), David Harbour (A Working Man, Thunderbolts), Finn Wolfhard (New-Gen, King of the Hill), and Millie Bobby Brown (Damsel, Modern Family), just to name a few.
Deadline reported that season one entered the chart at number three with 4.1 million views. The fourth season landed at number five with 3.3 million views, and the second season at number seven with 3.1 million views. Finally, season three landed at the number nine spot on the top ten with 3.1 million views.
Deadline noted that Stranger Things has steadily been growing in popularity over the past few weeks. Just last week, seasons one and two had 3.3 million and 2.7 million views, respectively. This is in comparison to The Beast In Me, starring Claire Danes (Homeland, Brokedown Palace) and Matthew Rhys (The Americans, Perry Mason), which remained in the number one spot for the second week in a row with 14.1 million views. Absentia, another thriller that aired on Prime Video, came in the number two spot with 2.3 million views
It appears that fans have been rewatching all four seasons while anxiously awaiting season five to come out. They have been reacquainting themselves with the storyline and all of the easter eggs hidden within all four seasons, noted by Deadline. Stranger Things is a science fiction horror drama set in 1980s Indiana. Season one premiered in 2016, which is nearly ten years ago. Whereas season four premiered in 2022, about three years ago.
Deadline noted that on November 26 at 5 pm PT, the long-awaited fifth season premieres only on Netflix.
