The finale of season 2 of Nobody Wants This does not dissapoint. Relationships fray and mend, tensions run high, and, while not all is resolved, the season ends in just enough of a state of homeostasis to hold us over until the next one.
Be warned: spoilers ahead.
The episode opens with Joanne, dressed in white, riding in an elevator. It looks like she’s a bride. Noah joins her in the elevator. The two awkwardly ride the elevator up and awkwardly don’t talk. After the elevator ride, the two walk down the hallway. Noah breaks the silence and asks if Joanne wants him to leave, Joanne says no. The two decide to fake their happiness so as to not distract from Morgan’s big celebration.
At the party, Esther and Sasha immediately can tell that something is up with Noah and Joanne. Joanne meets Morgan at the side of the party. Morgan starts to cry, she says that it’s because she’s happy but after a little prodding Morgan tells Joanne that she might want to break up with Andy. Joanne finally gets to tell Morgan all the reasons that Andy is bad for her and pushes Morgan to break up with Andy right there.
Joanne and Noah continue to secretly butt-heads throughout the party. Noah still doesn’t want to move in with Joanne because of her resistance to conversion, and Joanne wants Noah to accept her as she is right now. Things escalate and Noah tells Joanne to leave him alone until she cools off.

Morgan returns from her break-up attempt and reveals that Andy convinced her to stay with him. Joanne recruits the help of her mother to convince Morgan even further. Lynn tells Morgan that she has to demand the best for herself. This is the final straw. Morgan marches over to Andy and breaks up with him once and for all.
Noah tells Sasha about his situation with Joanne. Sasha tells Noah that he and Esther are doing really well and that their relationship succeeds because it isn’t hard at all. With this in mind, Noah approaches Joanne. The music swells- this is going to be a significant interaction. Noah tells Joanne that he doesn’t want to ask her to be someone who she’s not, and Joanne tells Noah that she loves him. In a turn, Noah says that they have to break up. He says that it’s too hard for both of them.
Esther and Sasha slow dance. Sasha tells Esther that he notices she hasn’t been herself and that he’s trying to reignite the spark between them. Esther tells Sasha that he’s a great dad and a great guy, but their relationship is not working. Sasha sits next to Morgan and they talk about how messed up their night is. Sasha tells Morgan that he’s going to stick by Esther throughout whatever she’s going through, and support her no matter what. Esther and Joanne find each other crying in the bathroom. Joanne tells Esther that she and Noah are done. Esther tells Joanne that she’s basically already Jewish, and she should stop thinking about conversion like it’s some big deal because she represents all the good values of Judaism already. Joanne starts to remember all the great times she had with Noah and she gets up to go find him.

At the same time, Noah is remembering all the good times he had with Joanne. He turns around to go find her as well. The two run into each other and Noah tells Joanne that he doesn’t care if she’s Jewish or not because they’re soulmates. The two kiss and the episode ends.
This ending felt very similar to the last season’s. The two break up, and then Noah returns in an epic show of chivalry and romance. However, whereas in some shows it might come off as lazy, Erin Foster and the writers of Nobody Wants This have cracked a code. This is once again a lovely and romantic display of love for the two main characters, and it doesn’t feel like a cheap way to end the season.
This season, though satisfying, leaves many questions unanswered. Will Joanne get support from Bina? Will Esther and Sasha overcome their differences? Will Morgan find love again? Luckily, the show was renewed for a new season at the beginning of November.
