

According to Deadline, Merrin Dungey (The Lincoln Lawyer, Malcom in the Middle), Audrey Hsieh (Found, Here Today) and Audrey Grace Marshall (The Flight Attendant, The Good Daughter) have been cast in the Hulu Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. The three will guest star in the pilot for the series and will be recurring characters if the project goes to series. The trio will be joining Ryan Kiera Armstrong (American Horror Story, Skeleton Crew), who stars as the new slayer in the pilot, as she plays Nova, an introverted high school student. The pilot will be an untitled Buffyverse offshoot, which Sarah Michelle Gellar (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Dexter: Original Sin) executive produces in addition to reprising her signature role as Buffy Summers.
As per Deadline, the trio will also be joining previously cast series regulars Faly Rakotohavana (Nightmare Cinema, The Mick), Ava Jean (A Week Away, 1300 Miles to Broadway), Sarah Bock (The Connoisseur, Severance), Daniel Di Tomasso (Major Crimes, Welcome to Mama’s) and Jack Cutmore-Scott (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Death and Other Details) as well as guest star/recurring Kingston Vernes (So Cold the River, The Survivor). Chase Sui Wonders (Bodies Bodies Bodies, The Studio) has a one-off guest-starring role in the pilot.
According to Deadline, Chloé Zhao (Song My Brothers Taught Me, A Clydesdale’s Journey) is directing the pilot, written by Nora (Poker Face, Haven) and Lilla Zuckerman (Prodigal Son, Suits). No additional information has been provided about the project, referred to as the next chapter in the Buffyverse, which comes from 20th Television and Searchlight TV.
As per Deadline, Dungey’s credits include The Lincoln Lawyer, S.W.A.T. and Shining Vale, and is repped by Gersh, Quest Entertainment & Management and Marcy Morris (And the Winner Isn’t, Sleepwalk with Me) at Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Hsieh is known for her role as Stevie Zhao in Found. She also appeared in the Netflix film Mixtape and in Here Today. Marshall will next be seen in Peacock’s upcoming The Good Daughter limited series. Her other credits include the role of Young Cassie on HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant.
