The hellishly talented voice actors behind Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss took to their first-ever SDCC panel Thursday to tease what’s next for the ‘Hellaverse’, including a long-awaited update on when fans can next expect to check in. The event was headlined by Hellaverse creator Vivziepop, a.k.a Vivienne Medrano (Eddsworld, Normal British Series) who independently led pilots for both series before striking a production deal to release Hazbin Hotel (and eventually, new episodes of Helluva Boss) on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.
Among the announcements for the series were upcoming release dates for season two of Hazbin Hotel and a special “Mission Zero” episode of Helluva Boss, which serves as something of an origin for Blitzo and his team of Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P.). Hazbin will premiere on October 29th, while “Mission Zero” will be available a month earlier on September 10th, alongside the Prime Video release of seasons one and two of Helluva, which are already available now on YouTube.
The Hellaverse team also teased a number of voice actors that will join the franchise in season two of Hazbin Hotel, which according to Medrano, will also see season one antagonist Vox, played by Christian Borle (Smash, Younger), step into a main villain role. New voice actors will include Alex Newell (Glee, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), Liz Callaway (Anastasia, The Swan Princess), and Fall Out Boy lead singer Patrick Stump, who will portray a version of the Biblical figure Abel.
Season one of Hazbin Hotel is streaming now on Prime Video, while seasons one and two of Helluva Boss are available for free on YouTube.
