

FX and Hulu have unleashed an official trailer for their upcoming sci-fi series, Alien: Earth, and giving a glimpse into the action it will hold. According to mxdwn, currently, the plot follows the journey of a rag-tag team of soldiers, who discover an unknown ship has crashed down on Earth. The trailer goes on to show that the ship contains different alien species, which includes iconic ones such as the xenomorph and the facehugger. The series has the potential to introduce new species to the franchise as well.
According to mxdwn, the cast for the upcoming sci-fi series will consist of Sydney Chandler (Pistol, Sugar), who will be playing Wendy,the first meta-human. Additional members that will be joining are Timothy Olyphant (Hitman, Havoc) as Kirsh, Alex Lawther (Andor, Black Mirror) as Hermit and Diêm Camille (Dandelion, The Wheel of Time) as Siberian. Their mission will be to located the rouge specimen before they reek havoc across the city and eliminate them.
The series is set in the year 2120 and is a prequel to the events of Ridley Scott’s (The Martian, Blade Runner) 1979 Alien film. According to mxdwn, the trailer also glimpses into the futuristic city within the series, and showcases a society with advanced technology while combating the class divide, as the world is controlled by five powerful corporations, including Weyland-Yutani. The series could slowly transition to what happens in the first film and answer the unresolved mysteries within the franchise, such as how the xenomorph got to the moon.
Alien:Earth will surely provide a fresh take on the series, delivering action-packed sequences that will keep viewers entertained while also delivering a chilling horror atmosphere that the Alien franchise is well known for. The series is scheduled to premier on FX and Hulu on August 12 with the first two episodes available to watch.
