

According to a press release that the mxdwn writers received, On April 30, 2025, Prime Video released the official trailer and key art for The Better Sister, a gripping limited crime drama starring Jessica Biel (The Sinner, Candy) and Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games, Pitch Perfect). The 8-episode series premieres globally on May 29, 2025, in over 240 countries and territories via Prime Video.
The show is set to be Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Tomorrow Studios, the series is adapted from the bestselling novel by Alafair Burke. It unravels a complex family mystery involving murder, estrangement, and sisterhood.

Biel plays Chloe Taylor, a successful media executive living what appears to be a perfect life with her husband Adam (Corey Stoll) and son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan). Elizabeth Banks portrays Nicky Macintosh, Chloe’s troubled, estranged sister trying to stay clean.

Olivia Milch (Ocean’s 8) and Regina Corrado (Mayor of Kingstown) serve as executive producers and showrunners. Direction comes from Craig Gillespie (Pam & Tommy), with Biel and Elizabeth Banks also taking executive producer roles.
