Based on the Dark Horse comics, Resident Alien follows a crash-landed alien named Harry Vanderspiegle and his continuation of life through planet earth. Now, in the fourth season, Harry has a baby named Bridget, friends, and has been met with numerous showdowns from aliens who visit earth. According to Usa Network, the fourth season will continue from where season three’s finale left off, with Harry’s imprisonment on the Grey Moonbase with Bridget. With the trailer combining the first few episodes, Harry is shown escaping his galactic prison with Bridget in hand, only to find out he has been implanted with a device which prohibits his super alien abilities. Following this, back on earth, a shapeshifting mantid has impersonated him and, comedically, tries to acclimate to human behaviors to appear as Harry. View the trailer below:
Aside from Harry’s daring escape, he returns to earth only to discover he may not be strong enough for a showdown with the mantid that is impersonating him. The fourth season will also bring the return of Asta, D’arcy, Ben, and Kate as they are desperate for answers as to what is happening to them. In a side plot, Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv attempt to solve mysterious deaths that plague the town, which they have started to wonder if they are being done by something “otherworldly”.
The series will bring back familiar faces such as Alan Tudyk (Moana, Moana 2), who also plans to step into the director’s chair for a few episodes, Sara Tomko (Journey to the Center of the Earth, Suicide for Beginners), Alice Wetterlund (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, People of Earth), Corey Reynolds (The Closer, The Wereth Eleven), Elizabeth Bowen (Just the way you are, Mark & Russell’s Wild Ride), and more. The series will also guest star Jewel Staite (Family Law, Firefly) and Stephen Root (Office Space, Barry).
Following an article on Screenrant, Tudyk’s return to the director’s chair means more action and successes for Resident Alien. With his successes as Harry on the series, and being accredited to the series overall success, this season will give him the ability to “flex those muscles again,” since his past interest in directing has landed him with opportunities such as on Con Man.
Fans can catch the season four premiere on June 6 at 11pm ET/PT, with all episodes becoming available to stream on Peacock a week after the initial air date. View the key art below as well!
