According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy-nominated producer Allyce Ozarski (I Love That for You, The L Word: Generation Q) has passed away at 41. She died in Los Angeles on January 24 due to triple negative metastatic breast cancer, as shared by her family.
Recently, Ozarski was an executive producer for the upcoming Netflix series Golf that stars Will Ferrell (Elf, Step Brothers) and Ramy Youssef (Poor Things, See Dad Run). The show is produced by T-Street Productions and Gloria Sanchez Productions. Another project she worked on was the untitled Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) show starring Rhea Seehorn (Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Inside Man: Most Wanted) that is set to be released on Apple TV+ and Sony Pictures TV.
The Hollywood Reporter stated Ozarski was born and raised in Poway, California. After graduating from the University of Washington, her first post-grad job was selling rugs in LA. Shortly after, she met with a television director that lead her to her career in entertainment.
In 2007, Ozarski was a travel coordinator for the surfing competition reality series Beyond the Break. She was also an assistant production coordinator/production coordinator for a variety of shows including All Night, A to Z, Lincoln Heights and The Cape, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter.
The 2017 Comedy Central series Problematic With Moshe Kasher was another one of her works. Baskets on FX, with Louie Anderson (Life With Louie, Family Feud) and Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover, Only Murders in the Building) was her project from 2017 to 2019.
In 2018, Ozarski received her first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series for her role as a producer of I Love You, America on Hulu.
She had a partnership with Showtime via THR. 2019 was the year she produced SMILF and The L Word: Generation Q. The latter series went on until 2023. She also produced two pieces of media that aired in 2022; the series Super Pumped and the comedy I Love That for You.
Ozarski leaves behind her four-year-old daughter Harley, her director and producer husband Jonathan Haug (Duck Dynasty, Expedition X), her brothers Adam and Marc and her parents Idelma and Robert. An education fund for her daughter was set in her honor.
