As noted by Deadline, multiple television shows have been suspended filming on Wednesday. Wednesday morning resulted in the production cancelation of NCIS and NCIS: Origins. Poppa’s House and The Neighborhood are working remotely for their LA sitcoms. Other television shows that were not filming included: All American, Abbot Elementary, Doctor Odyssey, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Grey’s Anatomy, Hacks, Happy Place, the new Leanne Morgan project, Loot, and Ted.
The fire has also affected late-night talk shows and suspended the tapings of CBS’ After Midnight and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Warner Bros. closed their Burbank located lot yesterday which consisted of the Warner Bros. television series such as The Pitt, Abbot and All American. The upcoming Leanne Morgan project and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage to be affected had rehearsal and table reads scheduled via Deadline.
Shows that took place in Santa Clarita, such as NCIS and the Paramount lot, like NCIS: Originals were highly affected too. Mxdwn has reported yesterday that Fallout season two production has been rescheduled to Friday. However, there could be a possibility of extension due to the state of LA county. Universal Studios group decided to close the Universal Studios theme park as a precaution. NBCUniversal has decided to close the Universal Studios lower lot.
Certain events, such as The Pitt’s premiere on Max and Shifting Gears’ in-person press, have been cancelled due to the conditions of the fire. Fire County has rescheduled its episode release to Friday evening, according to mxdwn. Critical Role has also delayed their episode, which was supposed to come out Wednesday, to January 16.
CBS news reports that the Palisades Fire started on January 7 at 10:38 am PT and has burned 17.k acres. Four other fires started on Tuesday and only two have been 100% contained. Three other fires started January 8 and only one has been 100% contained. Although many television series, sitcoms and other pieces of media are on pause, the well-being of the actors and crew members remain a priority during this time.
