Deadliest Catch returns for a landmark 10th season on Discovery Chanel.
This new season will put veteran skippers against the young guns. The veterans will need to cement their legacies as the young guns try to create their own this season. The late Capt. Phil Harris brought notoriety and respect to the industry. It will be a momentous season for Phil’s son, Josh Harris, who comes back as captain and owner of his late father’s boat the Cornelia Marie. It will be a tough act to follow and viewers will have to watch and see if Josh can continue his father’s legacy or begin his own.
The new season will bring some changes for the F/V Northwestern. Sig Hansen’s 18-year-old daughter, Mandy, is joining as a deckhand. She will have a lot to prove in an industry dominated by men. Sig will have to treat her like one of the crew but his tendency to overprotect may get in the way.
The first episode begins as the captains are grounded by the government shutdown in Washington, DC. The shutdown ends but it comes as a price for the crews. This will put their season they will have less time and their income will be on the line, as they must push their crews before injury or – even death – strikes. This season a boat will go up in flames, one will run aground, and many more will earn record-breaking profits.
This season of Deadliest Catch will fight off the forty-foot waves, hurricane force winds, heavy-machinery and massive icebergs to make it a season worth watching.
